Legend of Burlesque

Born in Berlin at the stroke of midnight, on a full moon during the year of the snake 1941, Delilah studied fashion and art and worked as a model and designer in Montreal. A pinup model in the late 50s and early 60s, she became a burlesque performer in 1959, working alongside such names as Sally Rand, Lili St Cyr, and Tura Satana at El Rancho, Club Largo and the Body Shop. She became an American Citizen in 1971, and spent the 70s on the road from Canada to Mexico, and in over 40 U.S. states. She designed her own costumes, and appeared on numerous magazine covers and centerfolds, working with some of the best photographers from in 50s and 60s. She retired from burlesque in 1980.

She is an oil-painter, gardener (because she "likes to watch things grow"), reptile-lover, exotic bird, chihuahua, and fish-owner, and nurse.
